Later, in 1957, the building was officially divided into two distinct parts – one to house craft workshops and the other to accommodate a museum dedicated to ancient art and traditions.
The mansion served various other purposes throughout the years. The northeastern part of the structure was once a primary school, and the first floor of the mansion even housed the first radio station in Marrakech. Each layer of history adds to the allure and significance of this remarkable museum.
